Chattanooga is a city bursting with culinary creativity, and I’m excited to share my top three favorite restaurants that never fail to impress: Calliope, Elsie's Daughter, and Main St Meats. Each of these establishments offers a unique dining experience that showcases the best of what our local food scene has to offer.
Calliope
Located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, Calliope is a vibrant spot that celebrates Levantine flavours with a modern twist. I reccomend going with a friend and sharing several of the small plates for your first time. Each menu item is an experience in and of itself, so make room on the table to try one of everything. The atmosphere is moody and takes you out of East Tennessee, making it a great place for both date nights and special occasions. Be sure to stick around for dessert—their knafeh is simply divine!
Elsie's Daughter
For an intimate dining experience, Elsie's Daughter located inside the Hotel Chalet is a gem that shouldn’t be missed. This charming Appalachian bistro prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create elevated Southern dishes. The menu concise but impressive. And for my fellow gluten-intolerent folks (Where are yall at?), no worries. Most of the menu items can be made gluten-free.
Main St Meats
Main St Meats in Chattanooga's Southside is another can't-miss destination for foodies. This butcher shop and restaraunt reccommends itself with a lively atmosphere and helpful staff. Their committment to locally and sustainably sourcing their ingredients from local farms is apparent in the quality of the menu. If your in the mood for a libation, I highly reccomend sampling from their rotating selection of frozen cocktails.
